What can The Growth Circle offer you?
Our vision is to provide an experiential learning platform and service through which companies and entrepreneurs grow. To become ‘the place’ where over 50’s (not exclusively), second careerers, and those re-inventing themselves and their companies go to get business support both on an event basis, an ongoing basis, and on an online/download basis.
Entrepreneurs and business owners want to grow their businesses and we believe that there is a gap between the training currently on offer and the real needs of the entrepreneurs. Current business training is characterised by:
• Training by talkers rather than doers
• Formal, theoretical and stuffy training
• Over-emphasis on ‘tick the box’ delivery rather than practical assistance
The Growth circle seeks to remedy this situation.
What is The Growth Circle?
The Growth Circle is a venture started by Phil Terrett, the owner of The Third Stage Group. It is a collaboration between a number of known and acknowledged experts in new economy methods of helping businesses grow. It is non-stuffy and has a can do attitude. It stresses the need for collaboration between businesses as a method of growth. The core members of the team train on what they do for a living – they are does not talkers. What market is it addressing?
The Growth Circle addresses two primary sectors, although all are welcome:
1. The market for supporting people starting a second career:
If you are leaving corporate life and venturing into your own business, you may have a great idea and a set of skills built up in your corporate life. These are likely to be limited to skills around your area of expertise (accounts, sales, engineering etc). You are likely to not have the complete set of skills necessary to succeed. How would you address a networking event for the first time? How do you find people in a similar situation? Which parts of social media are really useful and which parts are fluff?
2. The market for over 50’s in business:
The over 50’s, or more mature citizens, are of the punk generation. They invented the internet, mobile phones, gaming and many other things. They are also the fastest growing new business start-up segment in the UK market. They know what they do not like, and would prefer to be trained by people of roughly the same age and experience levels who can guide them through the maze of new technology, new marketing and new economy issues they face in a sympathetic way.
